This afternoon we went to the 'Feria del Libro' (International Book Fair) at La Rural. The boys were very excited to pick out books. They earned one book from their summer reading challenge and all three of them picked an Asterix comic book. They are TinTin addicts which is a comic strip that was written for a Belgian newspaper in 1929. Asterix has a similiar feel to me but this comic strip is French and first appeared in 1959. Here is a summary of the basic plot from Wikipedia. "The series follows the exploits of a village of ancient Gauls as they resist Roman occupation. They do so by means of a magic potion, brewed by their druid, which gives the recipient superhuman strength. The protagonist, the titular character, Asterix, along with his friend Obelix have various adventures. In many cases, this leads them to travel to various countries around the world." I have to limit how much my boys read these or I think they would possibly read them all day long without eating. Here is the site for the book fair which continues until May 10: http://www.el-libro.org.ar/.
